Kanye West Interview to MTV
Kanye West has never been at a loss for words. On his second album, Late Registration, he continues to stay out of the hip-hop box with his lyrics, rhyming about such topics as his grandmother's near-death, AIDS and conflict diamonds.
Out of the studio, of course, Kanye tends to be even more outspoken. And in his exclusive interview with MTV News' Sway Calloway, Ye opens up like he never has before. The Louis Vuitton don reveals for the first time his problems with the widespread homophobia in hip-hop, his battle with Beyoncé's boyfriend and why he was disloyal to the man who first championed him. He also admits to being a bit of a hypocrite. And that's only the beginning ...
Kanye West - Interview
Angel: What’s up Kanye?
Kanye: What’s good?
Angel: This is Angel from Concrete Loop, thank you for sitting with us.
Kanye: Aww no problem.
Angel: So I just wanted to know how did you find out about the site?
Kanye: I don’t know I think maybe my assistant Ivan or my road manager Don, or my A&R Pat, I don’t remember who but we sit in the studio, like we just in the studio all day so we don’t have anything to do. And they be on their computers, like our crew I think we got the most laptops out of any crew. And we just get on the blogs and start looking at stuff.
Angel: Okay. Well thank you for the shout outs because they really helped out a lot. [laughs] So, I really appreciate that.
Kanye: Yeah, no problem. Gotta get those advertising dollars up.
Angel: Yep!

Angel: Okay, the first question everybody wants to know is have you talked to 50 [Cent] ever since you got the number one spot?
Kanye West
Kanye Omari West (born June 8, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia) is a Grammy award winning rapper, producer, author, designer and singer.
He began making beats and rapping in the early 90s in Chicago, IL, United States when he formed the rap group GO GETTERS with Chicago natives GLC and Really Doe. He later gained nationwide popularity in New York when he began producing tracks for artists such as JAY-Z, Twista, Mase, Talib Kweli and Alicia Keys.
In 2004 (after being pushed aside by many record companies who felt he wasn’t a marketable hip hop artist), he managed to release his debut solo album, The College Dropout on Roc-a-Fella Records. The album received critical acclaim, defining the style for which West would become known: “wordplay” and heavy sampling of 70s soul and rnb tracks. He is also known for his politically-charged rhymes and controversial behavior both inside and outside the realms of music.
